Sometimes it can feel like people don't really understand why art is so important to me. Because it's not important to them, they struggle to comprehend why something as simple as making pictures matters at all. I'm not talking about giving up binge watching your favourite Netflix drama here folks. Whilst it's entertaining to see fictional characters deal with dramatic fluctuations in life, it's a bit of a drag when the drama is in your actual life. Why you should cry.
You're probably either one of those people who never cries - or one of those people who seems to cry all the time. I'm embarrassed to say that I'm one of the latter. Balance is hard.
By it's very definition, balance is hard. Things are rarely naturally balanced, it's something that always has to be monitored, adjusted and implemented. UGH. Who can even do that? Whenever I look at my life and realise that I'm not at my optimal happiness level, it's usually because something has thrown me off balance. Have a nap.
This is the sign you've been waiting for - have a nap. For yourself and everyone around you. I give you permission. Ease those shoes off and nestle into that couch. Or jump into bed. Heck, crawl under your desk and put your headphones in. Whatever it takes. For too long naps have had a bad rep, as being something that unproductive or lazy people do.
